TextPilot uses the Android AccessibilityService API strictly to provide assistive text replacement functionality.
Why TextPilot uses the AccessibilityService API:
• Detection of Trigger Commands: The Accessibility Service monitors editable text fields solely to detect when a user types a designated trigger command (such as ?fix or ?casual).
• In-Place Assistive Replacement: When a trigger is detected, the service reads the immediately preceding text that needs adjustment and performs an automated text replacement directly in the active input field.
• Motor Accessibility: This prevents users with physical typing difficulties or repetitive strain from needing to copy, switch apps, paste, and manually edit text repeatedly.
Data Privacy & What We Do NOT Collect:
• No Keystroke Logging: TextPilot is NOT a keylogger. It does not record, log, or track general keystrokes or background typing.
• No Personal Data Collection: TextPilot does not store, collect, or transmit personal data, passwords, financial details, or credit card numbers.
• On-Demand Only: The service only processes text in the active input field when you explicitly type a recognized trigger command.
• User Control: The Accessibility Service is completely optional, requires explicit user activation, and can be enabled or disabled at any time in Android Accessibility Settings.
