説明
Enter your fence run length and pick a fence type. The app does the rest: panel count, post count, recommended post length, and concrete quantity. Switch to closeboard mode for featheredge board counts, arris rails, and per-bay breakdown. Add prices to see total cost in pounds.
KEY FEATURES
• Two fence types — panel fence and traditional closeboard with featheredge boards
• Standard UK panel sizes (6ft × 6ft, 6ft × 5ft, 6ft × 4ft, 6ft × 3ft)
• Closeboard featheredge widths — 100mm, 125mm (standard), 150mm — with 25mm overlap
• Three concrete methods — Postcrete (20kg bags), Quick-set (20kg bags), or manual ballast + cement mix
• Cement:ballast mix ratio matches BS 8500-1 / NHBC Chapter 11 (C20 fence-post mix, 1:4 by mass)
• Arris rail count follows BS 1722-5 — 2 rails below 1500mm, 3 rails at or above
• Post hole depth scales by fence height — 600mm for fences under 1500mm, 750mm for taller (per BS 1722-5 and Jacksons fitting guide)
• Recommended post length always meets or exceeds requirement — never under-spec'd
• Optional gravel boards (150mm) and post caps
• Custom closeboard height (300–2400mm)
• Optional cost estimation with per-item prices
• Share results to text, email or messaging apps
CALCULATION ACCURACY
Constants and rules cross-referenced with BS 1722-5 (close-boarded fencing specification), BS 8500-1 (concrete mix), NHBC Chapter 11 (post-fixing C20 mix), Hanson and Holcim Postcrete TDS, and supplier catalogues from Jacksons Fencing, Travis Perkins, Lawsons and Crestala. Standard bay width 1830mm matches the UK 6ft trade convention.
