説明
The two screens run independently. Instead of copying your phone's display, the Tesla gets its own launcher, and the apps you open there run in their own windows, two of them side by side if you like. The Tesla screen and the phone screen never show the same picture. While a video plays in the car, you can still take a call or answer a message on the phone. Taps, swipes, pinch zoom and typing on the Tesla touchscreen go straight to the app.
To connect, turn on your phone's hotspot (5 GHz if your phone offers it), let the Tesla join it, and open carmiro.wovexapp.com in the car browser. Press both volume buttons once to cast the app you have open, twice to stop everything. Vehicle presets for Intel Atom and AMD Ryzen Tesla infotainment set resolution, frame rate and bitrate for you, and each can be adjusted by hand.
Navigation apps on the Tesla screen can use the car's GPS instead of the phone's. The option is off by default and lives in Settings under GPS source.
Tesla screen mirroring with Carmiro stays on your local network. The phone sends the picture straight to the Tesla browser and it never goes through an outside server.
Carmiro relies on wireless debugging in Developer Options. The app walks you through this one-time setup on first launch and pairs automatically after that.
Optional data-saver firewall: Carmiro can use Android's VpnService as a local on-device firewall to stop your Tesla's background uploads (telemetry and firmware downloads) from using your phone's hotspot data while casting. This VPN never connects to any remote server, and no screen, audio, browsing or traffic data leaves your phone. It is off by default, works only in Phone Hotspot mode, and asks for your consent before turning on.
A few streaming apps block playback on a second display because of DRM, so those show a black window in the Tesla browser. That restriction comes from the app itself, not from Carmiro.
Set everything up while parked, and keep your attention on the road once you are moving.
