WHAT IT BLOCKS
• Pornographic and adult sites
• Gambling and betting sites
• Dating apps
• Malware, phishing and scam domains
• Immodest and extended adult content (Standard and Strict levels)
• Forced SafeSearch on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, YouTube and Yandex

Three levels — Basic, Standard and Strict. Standard is the default and suits
most people. You can change level any time. Every category each level blocks is
listed on hesn.app and in our terms — no secret list, no silent additions.
AN ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER, IF YOU WANT ONE
The part no other Muslim filter does: you can invite one person — a spouse, a
friend, a mentor — to a read-only weekly summary of what was blocked. If the
filter is ever removed or weakened, they are told straight away. You choose who,
and you are always sharing your own activity, never someone else's. This is
opt-in; Hesn works as a plain filter without it.
NO FILTER IS A PERFECT WALL
A determined person can turn off any filter, Hesn included. We don't pretend
otherwise. That is exactly why Hesn's core isn't the wall — it's that the moment
the wall comes down, someone you chose knows. Willpower plus an audience beats
willpower alone.
HOW IT WORKS
Hesn uses Android's VPN permission to run a private, on-device DNS filter. It
does not route your browsing through a remote VPN server and it does not slow
your connection. Filtered DNS lookups are sent securely to Hesn's resolver; the
content of your traffic is never sent anywhere.
WHO HOLDS THIS DATA
• On-device where possible — verdicts leave your phone, your data doesn't
• Minimal logging — only what your partner's summary needs
• No ad networks, no third-party trackers, nothing sold on
• Built and run by a small team you can hold to account
SUBSCRIPTION
Hesn is a subscription with a 7-day free trial on the Individual plan. Individual
covers one device; Family covers up to 6. Price is shown in the app before you
subscribe. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours
before the period ends; manage or cancel any time in Google Play.
