In the past, the AI was weak, so we released it as a regular shogi app (under the name "Mobile Shogi"). However, now that there are many strong AIs, we mainly focus on shogi that can be played with unconventional positioning and rules.
In this shogi, not only do the initial positioning differ from regular shogi, but you can also enjoy the following modes:
Perfect Shogi - Shogi where you must capture all pieces to win.
Chess Shogi - Shogi similar to chess where captured pieces cannot be used.
Two-Move Shogi - Shogi where two moves are made at a time.
Scissors Shogi - Shogi where the objective is to sandwich the opponent's pawns with pawns.
Territory Shogi - Shogi where the objective is to move all of your pawns in a 3x3 grid towards the opponent's territory.
Again, regular even matches are not suitable for advanced players. If you're looking for strategies that require fewer moves or want to play with slightly unusual rules, I think it's suitable for advanced players as well.
The following updates were made in August 2025.
- Added two-move shogi.
- Added scissors shogi and territory capture shogi (games that were previously available in a separate app can now be played here).
