Gomoku Suits introduces an element of strategy by adding suits to the game and requiring players to consider both the color and the suit of the pieces when making their moves.
To win the game, a team must get an unbroken row of five pieces of the same color or four pieces of the same suit horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. This means that the team must either place five consecutive pieces of the same color (Spades, Clubs, or Hearts) in a row, or four consecutive pieces of the same suit (Spades, Diamonds, Clubs, or Hearts) in a row.
1. The game is played by two teams: Black and Red.
2. The turn order and piece placement is as follows:
- Black team starts with a Spades (♠) piece
- Red team follows with a Diamonds (♦) piece
- Black team then places a Clubs (♣) piece
- Red team places a Hearts (♥) piece
- This cycle repeats
3. Pieces are placed on empty intersections of the board, just like in classic Gomoku.
4. There are two ways to win:
a. Get an unbroken row of five pieces of the same color (either all black or all red) horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
b. Get an unbroken row of four pieces of the same suit (♠♠♠♠, ♦♦♦♦, ♣♣♣♣, or ♥♥♥♥) horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
5. The first team to achieve either of these winning conditions is the winner.
This variant adds an interesting layer of strategy to the classic Gomoku game, as players need to consider both color-based and suit-based winning conditions. It also introduces a fixed order of piece placement, which adds another strategic element to the game.
