Vision Statement: Plague Break aims to merge the gameplay styles of a Rogue lite and the “Match-3” genres into one endless re-playable package. Set in the heart of a post apocalyptic city after a scientist research experiment gone wrong, you now must journey through the city in order to survive and regroup with your fellow survivors.
Description: Plague Break is a video game featuring a combination of the Rouge lite and Match-3 genres into one endlessly re-playable experience, tailored for smartphones. This game includes unique city areas alongside a Crystal Shop to help against waves of creatures. Each battle is wave based and set on a timer, with the player's job being to try and match 3 or more same colored blocks before the timer runs out. Afterwards, the enemy will attack the player. If the player loses all their health, they die, and if the player defeats all the waves of enemies, the player wins.
The player may struggle at first through the game, however, after defeating enemies, the players can gain currency to spend on three powerful upgrades. These upgrade help with dealing more damage, having more health, and multiplying the damage that the player deals to the enemy. This game also includes a save system, to allow players to retain their progress if they wish to take a break, with the option to also delete their save data if they wish to restart the game. If the game also feels too easy, we included a hard mode to test players and their merits to see if they are up to the challenge of beating the game with more restrictions to the base combat.
Story: A group of highly established science researchers who had been experimenting on organic lifeforms for years, believed to have concocted the ultimate specimen to create new lifeforms grown from a liquid substance. However, the experiment quickly grew to become too unstable. With the research facility not going under proper regulations the experimentation was deemed to be too hazardous for human life to be safe near. A disaster with the experiment could not be contained and thus began an outbreak in the heart of a major city, subsequently taking over life as we know it. With there only being a few remaining survivors in the area including yourself, you must now fight towards saving yourself, escaping, and most importantly regrouping with fellow survivors to fend off the undead plague.
