THE GAMBIT MODE (PvP, PvAI, Friend vs. Friend) This is Sudoku reborn as a 1v1 psychological duel. You and your opponent take turns playing numbers on a single, shared 9x9 board. The game is a direct confrontation: your goal is to strategically outmaneuver your rival. You are fighting to either capture the most 3x3 boxes or to masterfully bait your opponent into making fatal, game-ending mistakes. It's not about speed; it's about deception and superior strategy.
How to Win the Duel: There are three paths to victory:
Logical Dominance: Be the first to capture 5 truly correct 3x3 boxes.
Psychological Warfare: Bait your opponent into making 3 hidden mistakes (Strikes) to force their elimination.
War of Attrition: If the board is full (stalemate), win on the tie-breaker (most true boxes, then fewest hidden strikes, then most time remaining).
Your Strategic Tools (The Mechanics):
The 3-Strike Gambit: You have 3 hidden strikes. A logical error costs 1 strike. But this isn't just a penalty; it's a resource. You can deliberately spend a strike to pass a difficult turn or to change the board's tempo. Manage your 3 "lives" wisely.
Deceptive Scoring: When a 3x3 box locks, the player who made the final move gets 1 point on the UI. This UI score can be a lie. Only correct boxes count for the win. You can bait your opponent into capturing "poisoned" (incorrect) boxes to make them think they're winning.
Overwrite & Conquer: Don't like your opponent's number? Play right on top of it. This is a battle for control of every cell.
