Jellibean - How it works:
The problem is that designers and creatives find the research and insight process hard to access when creating concepts, and are often separated from it. This is often aggravated by an abundance of subjective opinions delivered out of context that can inhibit creative opportunity, and the lack of ability to gain deeper insight and learning in the detail of ideas tested.
Our solution is a game changer because Jellibean introduces collective intuition to your concepts, designs, and ideas, enabling you to directly explore how people really react to your work.
There are just a few steps from design to insight. You upload your designs, define the attributes you want to test, and invite people to participate using the free testing app, and get immediate results. It takes Jellibean just a few minutes to help you create a short survey with your designs. Invite up to 10 people to take your survey – anyone can download the app and take part in a survey, provided they have been sent an access code and a passphrase. Just share these codes with them via your usual text messenger service or email.
One feature of the app is the use of response latency and evaluative priming techniques. These were developed in cognitive psychology to try to measure feelings and attitudes more objectively and to be less prone to biases that can happen when people are responding verbally to direct questions. As the name suggests, response latency tests require fast reactions. It mimics how people perceive brand assets out there in stores and on websites – they can like or dislike a design and feel positive or negative about it in a split-second. The emotional structures in the brain that determines what to buy are uber-fast and so we need to measure them quickly too.
When your app has collected the data, it notifies you that it is complete and ready to display the results. There is no action required to download the data or to do any data processing, such as cleaning, removing outliers, and so on. This is all done for you. You can view total scores for each of your designs, as well as scores for each attribute. These provide guidance on how well your designs are performing. This is achieved in an objective, unbiased way.
