Defining yourself is a difficult process, whether you are writing a journal entry, answering an interview question, or trying to be happier and more fulfilled in your life. What exactly makes up a a person differs according to what philosophy you follow, but you can look at some basic parts of yourself to define who you are. For instance, you can define your skill set, your passions, your personality, and your values as a way of determining who you are.
Knowing yourself is an important step to achieving happiness and peace. To learn your true self, identify the qualities that make you unique. Daily reflection and meditation can help you cultivate a deeper understanding of your identity. As time goes on, you can build on these discoveries to create a deep and meaningful relationship with yourself.
An identity crisis can occur at any age and in any set of circumstances, but it's equally unnerving no matter what those conditions are. Our sense of self is vital to our happiness, and when that sense of self becomes fractured, it can be devastating. Learning how to regain your sense of self can help you overcome an identity crisis and find happiness.
