Jopsy fußt auf dem bewährten RIASEC-Modell von John Holland, das 6 verschiedene Interessensebenen erfasst: praktisch-technisch, intellektuell-forschend, künstlerisch-sprachlich, sozial, unternehmerisch und konventionell.
In der App werden den Jugendlichen Bilder mit Tätigkeiten angeboten, die sie anhand eines Schiebereglers je nach Interesse einschätzen können. Nachdem sie 60 Bilder bewertet haben, erhalten sie ein persönliches Interessensprofil und eine Erklärung zu ihren drei dominanten Interessensfeldern. Anschließend werden ihnen zu ihrem Interessensprofil passende Berufsvorschläge aus einer umfangreichen, österreichischen Berufsdatenbank gemacht. Die Ergebnisse der App sind wissenschaftlich valide.
