About Us
Alpha School of Life Skills is an organization committed to provide education and
training on 21st Century skills – Life Skills. At Alpha, we prepare students to become
global citizens. Our Life skills curriculum encompasses WHO guidelines and follows
methods conducive to students’ needs and interest. We are recognized by the Ministry
of Indian Government as one of the “Start Up India” Project and is also pre-incubated by
NSRCEL in collaboration with IIM Bangalore. We are also a life member of the Indian
Association of Life Skill Education.

Vision
To develop the "Life Skills" laid down by WHO, amongst children, young adults, working
professionals and society at large, in India & across nations.
We envision to upscale the capabilities of today’s youth, across the globe, providing a
holistic environment of growth, proving to be an enabler to manage the challenges of
life.

Mission
To create awareness and formulate a practically implementable curriculum on Life Skills
Education (LSE)
To hone the life-skills of today’s youth, which in turn will prepare them to handle the
situations in life – personal and professional.
To roll out the LSE program in collaboration with academic institutions as a trusted
partner in Life skill development

Life Skills- What, Why, How, Who?

What?

“Life skills” are defined as psychosocial abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that
enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.
WHO defines Life Skills, as the abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable
individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.
The Ten core Life Skills as laid down by WHO are: The Ten core Life Skills as laid down
by WHO are:
1. Self-awareness
2. Empathy
3. Critical thinking
4. Creative thinking
5. Decision making
6. Problem Solving
7. Effective communication
8. Interpersonal relationship
9. Coping with stress.
10. Coping with emotion

Why?
Anyone who wants to lead a meaningful life needs life skills. As, Life skills mentioned
above, helps them to handle the day-to-day situations in life both personal and
professional.
The bridge between a student and a successful professional in most of the occasions is
the quantum of life skills / leadership skills acquired by everyone. Till now it has been
contributed to the privilege of an individual with respect to family make up, surroundings
and school atmosphere. However, years of research and analysis has identified, that if
we can hone these skills in a structured and conscious way, any individual can grow,
irrespective of the above-mentioned privileges, which can be scarce in these days due
to various socio-economic conditions.

How?
To achieve this, we aim to train the youth on the core life skills through a specific course
curriculum and content, developed with interactive and engaging activities, to make
them industry-ready, at the campus level and to provide a holistic development of
students, from playroom to classroom to boardroom. The same can be extended to the
youth employed in corporates and even public in general.
