Описание
Esta app está orientada a servir de instrumentos para fortalecer y promover procesos de revitalización lingüística que surjan con las nuevas generaciones.
Los Matsés, conocidos también como Mayoruna, han preferido esta denominación debido a que, en su lengua, la palabra Matsés significa ‘gente’ o ‘parientes’. Por ubicarse en la frontera de Perú y Brasil, los Matsés han sido considerados como los representantes extremo-septentrionales del grupo Pano, conformado por pueblos cuya lengua forma parte de la familia lingüística Pano.
En el año 2009, el Estado peruano estableció la Reserva Nacional Matsés, lugar de amplia diversidad biológica y que significa el reconocimiento de un amplio territorio para que los Matsés aprovechen sus recursos naturales.
El pueblo Matsés vive principalmente en la provincia de Requena en el departamento de Loreto, en la zona de frontera Brasil. Según los resultados de los censos nacional 2017, por sus costumbres y sus antepasados han sido 902 personas que se han autoidentificado como parte del pueblo Matsés a nivel nacional; y por el idioma o lengua materna con el que aprendió a hablar en su niñez han sido 1,366 personas que han manifestado que hablan la lengua Matsés que corresponde al 0,03% del total de lenguas originarias a nivel nacional. Además, los datos obtenidos por el Ministerio de Cultura, la población de las comunidades del pueblo Matsés se estima en 1,309 personas.
