Esta app está orientada a servir de instrumentos para fortalecer y promover procesos de revitalización lingüistica que surjan con las nuevas generaciones.
El pueblo Shipibo-Konibo Este pueblo tiene su origen en una serie de fusiones culturales entre tres grupos que anteriormente eran distintos entre sí: los Shipibos, los Konibos y los Shetebos. El nombre de este pueblo estaría relacionado con los términos “mono” y “pez”, en el idioma originario. Según la tradición oral de este pueblo, los Shipibo-Konibo recibieron esta denominación porque en el pasado se ennegrecían la frente, el mentón y toda la boca con un tinte natural de color negro, lo que los hacía parecerse a un mono que llamaban shipi. Hoy, los ciudadanos de este pueblo han aceptado esta denominación sin considerarla como peyorativa y reivindicándola (Morin 1998).
Los Shipibo-Konibo han sido conocidos por su gran movilidad y su capacidad para organizar conglomerados de población indígena en zonas urbanas, siendo un ejemplo la Comunidad de Cantagallo, el asentamiento indígena amazónico más conocido y numeroso en Lima Metropolitana, ubicado en el distrito del Rímac.
Por otro lado, la producción artesanal y textil del pueblo Shipibo-Konibo es una de las más famosas de la Amazonía peruana debido a sus típicos diseños. El famoso sistema de diseño kené tiene un valor fundamental en la cultura Shipibo-Konibo, ya que expresa su cosmovisión. En el año 2008, el kené fue declarado Patrimonio Cultural de la Nación con la Resolución Directoral RD N 540/INC-2008.
Este pueblo ribereño se encontraba tradicionalmente asentado en las costas del río Ucayali y sus afluentes. Actualmente, las comunidades Shipibo-Konibo se ubican en los departamentos de Ucayali, Madre de Dios, Loreto y Huánuco. Según datos obtenidos por el Ministerio de Cultura, la población en las comunidades de este pueblo se estima en 32,964 habitantes, siendo uno de los pueblos más numerosos de la Amazonía peruana.
