Boom is a rocket launch tracker built specifically for people living near Vandenberg Space Force Base, Cape Canaveral, and Kennedy Space Center. If you've ever been startled by the double boom of a SpaceX Falcon 9 landing, this app is for you.
Get personalized alerts before sonic booms based on your exact location, so you'll know when to expect those window-rattling sounds.
LOCATION-BASED BOOM PREDICTIONS
The app calculates how loud the sonic boom will be at your specific location. You'll see predictions like "Very Loud," "Clearly Audible," "Faint," or "Too Far to Hear" based on your distance from the landing zone.
Weather matters too. The app analyzes real-time conditions like wind direction, temperature, and atmospheric pressure to give you accurate loudness predictions with decibel estimates.
SMART LAUNCH NOTIFICATIONS
Set up custom alerts for upcoming launches. Choose to be notified 1 day before, 1 hour before, or 30 minutes before launch time.
You can filter notifications to only alert you about launches that will produce sonic booms, and choose which launch sites you care about. No more notifications about launches happening across the country that you won't hear.
