This application allows users to report any accidental catch of protected species themselves, or on behalf of someone else. The data collected is to be used for conservation purposes in New Zealand and the reported catch data can be viewed at docnewzealand.shinyapps.io/protectedspeciescatch
Access and reporting via the Protected Species Catch application is completely anonymous and will not require any logon credentials. For enquires regarding this application please contact: doc.govt.nz/recreational-fishing-bycatch

• Completely anonymous
• Allows efficient and effective reporting of marine protected species catch
• Easy reporting of location, fishing method, and species from drop-down menus
• Works in a completely offline environment
