Açıklama
Os objetivos da SOBRAC são normatizar as atividades relacionadas às arritmias cardíacas no Brasil, promover o desenvolvimento científico e a valorização profissional da especialidade, além de orientar a população leiga a respeito dos problemas mais comuns ligados à arritmia cardíaca, por meio de campanhas educativas.
Com sede na cidade de São Paulo, a Sociedade tem atuação nacional, tendo criado em 2006 o Programa de Educação Continuada (PreCon), ligado à Sociedade Brasileira de Cardiologia (SBC) e à Sociedade de Cardiologia do Estado de São Paulo (SOCESP), e cuja finalidade é difundir e harmonizar condutas na área de arritmias cardíacas aos médicos da área clínica, em eventos realizados anualmente em diferentes regiões do país.
Realiza ainda, também anualmente, o Congresso Nacional de Arritmias Cardíacas, maior evento do gênero da América Latina, que reúne profissionais renomados do Brasil e do exterior.
O trabalho de conscientização da população leiga para o problema das arritmias e da morte súbita teve inicio em 2007, a partir do lançamento da Campanha Nacional de Prevenção da Morte Súbita, intitulada Coração Na Batida Certa, a qual instituiu o dia 12 de novembro para suas mobilizações junto a este público, em ações realizadas por associados e parceiros da Sociedade em todo o território nacional.
