With Marine Ranger PRO, users can:
- Log and track boat trips taken for Photo Identification (Photo ID) of marine mammals.
- Record GPS location in real-time, even when the app is running in the background, to ensure complete trip logs without manual input.
- Add notes, observations, and environmental data relevant to each trip.
- Export collected data for further research or conservation reporting
Marine Ranger PRO requires background location access to ensure uninterrupted GPS tracking while the device screen is off or the app is not in the foreground. This functionality is essential for researchers conducting long-duration trips where location tracking is critical for accurate data collection and post-analysis. Without background location access, the app's core tracking features would not function properly.
This app is developed and maintained by Blue World Institute, supporting ongoing efforts in marine conservation and research.
