الوصف
The combination of rapid test and smartphone app enables a quick, quantitative calprotectin measurement within a few minutes. A video tutorial guides you step by step through the entire test procedure. You can easily and hygienically take a stool sample at home and apply it to the test cassette after mixing it with the buffer solution. After a few minutes, the test cassette is evaluated using the smartphone camera. The unique SmarTest Calprotectin app calculates the calprotectin level and immediately displays the result on your smartphone - allowing you to keep an eye on your calprotectin status yourself and detect inflammatory episodes early. This enables rapid treatment and minimizes possible subsequent damage to the intestine.

Therapy monitoring in IBD
IBDs (chronic inflammatory bowel diseases) such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis are lifelong diseases of the digestive tract with episodic inflammation. Characteristic features are diarrhea, pain and often accompanying inflammatory diseases of the skin, joints and eyes. The disease makes everyday life more difficult for those affected and often leads to social isolation, because everyday things such as going to work, doing sports or meeting friends can become a challenge for CED patients. The regular measurement of the inflammation marker calprotectin provides information about the presence of inflammation in the intestine and plays a major role in the follow-up and therapy monitoring of IBD patients. The classical way to measure the calprotectin concentration in the stool is via the laboratory. However, this is time-consuming for patients and it can take days before a result is available. This lost time is valuable and could be used for therapeutic measures.
