الوصف
Lo que hace a Los Chincanayros singulares y diferentes a otros grupos coetáneos es lo que significaron en su momento. Tras publicar un primer disco de folklore tradicional, sus otros cuatro incorporaban elementos diferenciadores con respecto al resto de folklore que se hacía en ese entonces: una temática social y, sobre todo, un estilo personal sin parangón. En ambos elementos, sumados a que hicieron su música con la perspectiva y el contexto del momento histórico que vivieron, radica el auténtico valor que poseen dentro del panorama musical de las islas.
Hicieron una mezcla entre folklore, tradición, folk y canción protesta con el fundamento de que esa mezcla tuviera, por encima de todo, contenido canario, pero siempre haciéndose eco de lo que la sociedad demandaba en aquel momento. Sus canciones recogían aspectos tradicionales, ancestrales y sobre todo de la vida de la gente trabajadora y del campesinado canario. Los Chincanayros fueron el vehículo de transmisión de la problemática y dificultades que esas gentes tenían en su día a día, al recogerlo en las letras que cantaban.
