MelodyHarmonizer is not based on probabilities, so it does not necessarily produce a fully polished or the most commonly heard and used harmonization. The app is not intended to produce fully coherent harmonizations; rather, it explores what kinds of harmonic progressions can be applied to the melodic line you input. For example, if you are arranging a hymn for choir, you can generate many kinds of harmonizations for the hymn tune and draw ideas from them for your final arrangement.

Tip 1: If you want to leave a note without harmonization, click its sequence number and it will turn red as a mark. If you want the enharmonic equivalent, click the note head.
Tip 2: At the moment, harmonization works best if you harmonize a line or a couple of lines, rather than trying to harmonize an entire stanza, because once there are dozens of chords, it turns into a long random walk and the number of workable solutions becomes very small. The algorithm makes up to 20,000 attempts, which can take 2–3 minutes.
