La nostra emittente è nata nel 1989 a Pratola Peligna in provincia dell’Aquila con il nome di Radio Stella International e trasmetteva sulle frequenze di 98.00 e 100.00 MHz .
I soci fondatori sono Franco & Giuseppe D'angelo - Franco Pallottini - Giuseppe Cirillo - Luca Rosato.
L'Emittente radiofonica nei primi giorni anche se con segnale discreto ebbe subito successo con numerosi programmi dalla dance alla musica italiana a quella anni 60-70-80 .
Nel mese di Agosto 1989 con l'ampliamento dell'assetto societario e l' entrata del nuovo socio Franco Ferretti decidemmo di trasferire l'emittente a Sulmona in via delle concerie dove continuava la propria attività .
Nel 1990 l'emittente radiofonica fece un altro trasferimento da via delle concerie a viale della repubblica dove entrò far parte di network più importanti come radio dj e radio Italia.
il successo proseguì fino a febbraio 1993 quando per un improvviso calo del settore pubblicitario e dello staff l'emittente subì un notevole cambiamento tra cui il ritorno al nome originario Radio Stella International. Ritornare al successo ormai era cosa difficile, noi non ci siamo persi mai di animo e con forza siamo riusciti ad riprendere quello che avevamo perso. Nell’ agosto del 1993 alcuni soci hanno ceduto la propria quota societaria a Patrizio Colucci che diventò di fatto titolare di maggioranza della radio .
Colucci, dopo l’aquisto, decise di cambiare la denominazione della radio da Stella Dj a Radio Dimensione Abruzzo .
Ma questo non ebbe mai inizio perche nel mese di settembre 1993 arrivò da parte del Ministero delle Comunicazioni l' ordinanza di oscuramento del segnale e la chiusura dell'emittente . Nel corso degli anni, a seguito di tante riflessioni, ci siamo resi conto che la nostra vita è quella di fare radio e di ridare alla propria città una emittente che a suo tempo fece la storia dell'emittenza locale, oggi siamo tornati per continuare quello che avevamo interrotto a suo tempo.
