Why Use Chess Notation Keyboard?

How to Enable & Use (Android):
1. Install the app and open it. Follow the in-app guide to enable the keyboard in your device’s Settings > System > Languages & input > Virtual keyboards. (Don’t worry, it’s easy – the app will walk you through it step by step.)
2. After enabling, switch to Chess Notation Keyboard whenever you want to type chess moves. For example, open any notes app or PGN editor, tap to start typing, and change the keyboard input method to “Chess Notation Keyboard”. Now you’re ready to go!
3. During a game, simply tap the keys for each move (e.g. for e4, just tap ‘e’ and ‘4’; for Nf3, tap ‘N’, ‘f’, ‘3’). The keyboard automatically formats moves (including special cases like castling or promotions via dedicated keys).
4. When the game is over, save the notation from your notes app or export the PGN from Chess Notation Keyboard. You’ll have a complete record of the game to study or share.
