Ever wondered where WiFi Access Points (AP) or wireless routers are located around you? **WiSpy** is your ultimate tool to find their locations with remarkable accuracy. Simply open the app, walk around, and let it do the rest!
## Key Features:
* **Automatic WiFi Detection:** Detect all nearby APs, including __hidden__ ones, using your mobile device’s WiFi scanner.
* **Accurate Triangulation:** As you move, **WiSpy** tracks GPS positions and signal strengths, using an advanced algorithm to triangulate/trilaterate the exact location of WiFi access points.
* **Real-time Accuracy:** The app adjusts and constantly improves the accuracy of detected AP location as you gather more data. While initial readings may vary due to factors like weather, obstacles, or GPS accuracy, the app continuously improves its estimates.
* **Customizable Settings:** Tailor the app to your needs with adjustable parameters in the settings menu. You can even calibrate your device for improved accuracy with a reference AP.
* **Privacy First:** **WiSpy** respects your privacy by not sending or storing any personal data online. It only uses location services and internet connectivity to download and update maps as you walk.
* **Offline Functionality:** No reliance on external databases or cloud services – **WiSpy** estimates WiFi locations based purely on your current GPS coordinates and WiFi signal strength.
* **Share Your Findings:** View the triangulated APs on the map, as a list, or export them as CSV files to share with other applications.
## Tips for Best Results:
* **Optimal Walking Patterns:** Avoid straight paths; instead, walk in a circular or semi-circular route around areas of interest for the most accurate results.
* **Calibration Tips:** When calibrating your device to improve the accuracy, ensure you use a reference AP with a symmetrical antenna pattern. Devices with PCB antennas or non-symmetrical directivity patterns are not recommended for calibration.
* **Stationary Use Only:** For safety and accuracy, avoid using the app while in motion, such as when driving or cycling. The app is designed for pedestrian use at normal walking speeds.
