Captain – assemble your crew, load out your ship, and prepare to engage in intense turn-based battles while navigating through the galaxy. Acquire more powerful tools of the trade over multiple runs as you manage relationships across the many factions of Breachway – from the Militarist Solarii to the technologically inclined Numen, there are many friends and foes to be found among the stars as you shoot, sneak, and smuggle across the galaxy.

Choose from a multitude of ship chassis and then kit your selection out with a variety of weapon systems, defensive upgrades, and internal modules. Find unique synergies between your options as each choice comes with an associated set of cards for your deck, with additional cards and upgrades unlocked at your discretion after each victorious encounter – will you dodge dangerous regions, or face them head-on in the hopes of acquiring powerful new options for the journey ahead?

Gather crew to operate your equipment, managing their morale and taking advantage of their unique skills and the benefits they provide your outfit, as well as their relationships with the factions you might encounter. But be warned, crew members have their own personalities and allegiances to remain mindful of.

Seek out upgrades and new crew members as you traverse the galaxy – unexpected equipment combinations will provide powerful card synergies, each with their own risks and rewards.

Explore diverse tactical options as you engage in turn-based card battles where resource management, strategic foresight, and adaptive thinking will determine the victor.

Your sensors will pick up on enemy activity, letting you know what to expect when they strike. Calculate cooldown times and strategize around enemy equipment that poses the greatest threat to you in upcoming turns. Will you prioritize disabling specific equipment with focused fire, or will you instead rely on using defensive countermeasures to stand your ground as you burn past enemy shields and punch through their hulls? Not all equipment is created equal, and your options are determined by the unique capabilities of your loadout, and the resulting cards at hand.

The right order of operations can be the difference between a powerful alpha strike that obliterates a weaker ship, or an impenetrable defensive stack that buys you more time to chip away at a tough adversary. Hack enemy equipment, overheat their ships, overwhelm their point defense systems, and devise unique combinations with which to dominate space warfare.

Seek out the mysterious Signal as you carve your own unique path through the tense narrative encounters of Breachway. If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again – each run improves your odds of success with better knowledge and tools, while the varied events will send you down unexpected journeys full of twists and turns keeping each run fresh.

Engage with pirates and converse with members of four unique factions that might help or hinder you in various ways. Grapple with morally gray decisions as you come across people spread throughout the systems, coloring how the world looks at you and your crew.

The right faction relationships, properly managed, can unlock access to extremely powerful arsenals, but your ties with each of the factions will determine how your story unfolds – will you be swayed by the genetically enhanced Starkin and their desire for unity by any means necessary, or does the independence of the Free Roamers call to you instead?

Breachway puts you in charge of a rag-tag crew piloting a lone warship on a grand adventure – strategize and synergize your way on each run through the galaxy.

  • Patch #13 - More Missiles and Hacking Arrive in Breachway

    New Equipment Expands Build Variety + Key Bugfixes

    Hi everyone,We’ve added some new equipment to Breachway, designed to expand the options for viable builds across the different ships.

    While we’re still hard at work on the Meta-Progression update, which we’re confident will be a great addition to the game, it just needs a bit more time to fully come together.

    Looking ahead, we plan to shift to a more regular patch release cycle. Instead of waiting for one large patch every couple of months, you can expect more frequent updates that introduce fixes and fresh content, like new enemies, cards, subsystems, and events. Larger updates—like the Meta-Progression patch—will still happen every couple of months, but smaller updates will keep things moving at a steady pace.

    In the meantime, we hope you enjoy experimenting with the new Missile Launcher and Hacking Array equipment, and let us know what you think!

    Changelog:

    New Equipment type: Missile Launcher. This allows players to install a missile equipment on a Weapon Mount slot, there's never too many missiles!

    New Equipment type: Hacking Array. A "lite" version of the hacking module that can be installed on a ship's Aux Mount, allowing ships to use hacking cards without swapping out their Shield Generator.

    Made a balance pass to first sector Starkin and Free-roamer enemies, to reduce the attrition damage they could cause in the early game.

    Fixed a bug that would result in players being blocked in the Buy/Sell dialog in hangars

    Fixed a bug that would not unlock the third and fourth perk meta-progression slots

    Hack Heatsinks: the card now reduces enemy heat tolerance to 0 for 1 turn, instead of reducing it by 1 + your Security counter for multiple turns.

    Removed Launch bay Equipment appearing in stores when playing as the Marauder (as the ship did not have a Launch bay)

    Fixed a display issue where the Pinpoint card would not correctly display the damage it did based on damaged or disabled equipment

    Patch 12

    Hi everyone, there were some minor issues that were reported after the last update. We're fixing them as we see them, so here's the first hotfix after our Avalanche update:

    Fixed enemy's Bombard card effect and text

    Fixed Barbed Shrapnel text

    Fixed Flak Shell effect

    Fixed Shield Amplifier Displaying 0 on card text at times

    Modified SK-B03 to fire Heavy Blast instead of Eruptive Blast

    Modified map node placement to make it better fit into a 16:10 aspect ratio

    Modified card keyword explanation window position so it's no partly longer off-screen on enemy cards

    Fixed issue with Amplifier Blast not initiating the +50% laser damage buff

    Fixed Paired Pulse damage display in all instances

    Offensive Assurance is now correctly displayed as a support card

    Increased Shield added by Flash Shields from 8 to 9

    Fixed text issues on the Light Torpedo when played by the enemy

    Prep Volley now properly returns to draw pile after being played

    Expect more fixes in the near future as more issues are discovered.

    Patch 11The Avalanche Ship, Flak Overhaul, and New Damage Synergies

    Hi everyone,

    First, thank you for your patience while we worked on this update. We know it’s been a while, and we apologize for the long wait.

    This patch turned out to be more ambitious than we initially planned. As we dug into the game, we discovered more areas that needed attention, and we couldn’t resist tackling them to improve Breachway.

    We want to start by presenting you with our latest ship:
    Introducing The Avalanche

    The Avalanche is a new missile-focused ship designed to dominate enemy point defenses with overwhelming missile barrages. Its playstyle centers on high-volume missile volleys, synergizing with the new Blast Damage mechanics, opening up new possibilities for missile-based builds. (Insert screenshot of the Avalanche here)
    Major Changes

    Flak Overhaul Flak mechanics have been reworked to promote strategy and reduce randomness: Shred Counters: Most Flak cards now apply Shred counters to enemies. Brittle Effect: At 10 Shred counters, enemies gain 1 Brittle, increasing the damage they take from Blast attacks. Controlled Impact: These changes make Flak weapons more predictable and tactical.

    New Damage Types Three new damage types—Precision, Blast, and Ion—replace the previous equipment-specific interactions, adding flexibility to deck-building: Precision Damage: Single-target, high-accuracy attacks. Blast Damage: Area-of-effect attacks for handling groups of enemies. Ion Damage: Disruptive utility effects for strategic control. This change encourages diverse synergies between cards and weapons.

    Ignite Mechanic Simplified The Ignite mechanic has been updated for better clarity: Each card now has a specific Ignite Value, which determines the maximum Heat it can generate. For every point of hull damage, 1 Heat is added to the target up to the Ignite value. This system provides better transparency and opens new design possibilities.

    Subsystem Swapping Subsystems are now swappable, allowing players to experiment and adapt their strategies during a run.

    Generic Mk. I Equipment Mk. I equipment is now generic, providing greater variety in early-game drafting. This change and the new damage types support creative builds from the start.

    New Features Run End Screen At the end of each run, a Run End Screen summarizes your performance, showcasing key stats such as: Damage dealt by weapon type. Enemies defeated (Regular/Elite/Boss). Nodes traveled, Heat added, and credits earned. Future updates will expand this feature with scoring systems, achievements, and highlights for a richer post-run experience.

    Streamlined Space Station Menu Station services have been consolidated into the Hangar screen to simplify navigation and reduce menu backtracking. (Insert screenshot of the updated menu here)
    Improvements

    Stability Enhancements Key improvements to the tutorial experience include: Bug fixes for increased stability. Improved communication of mechanics to help new players get started more easily.

    Enemy Behavior Updates Enemies have been adjusted to align with new mechanics, creating more engaging encounters: Streamlined actions improve predictability and counterplay opportunities. Rebalanced behavior ensures less frustration and more strategic gameplay.
    Looking Ahead

    The next update will introduce meta-progression features, addressing highly requested additions. Here’s what’s coming: Unlockable Starting Loadouts: Customize starting configurations to suit different playstyles. Expanded Starting Perks: Experiment with new perks for varied strategies. Achievements and More: Progression elements to add depth and replayability. These additions aim to provide more meaningful choices and increased variety in every run.
