In an ultimately frozen world, people develop steam-powered technology to oppose the overwhelming cold. The city ruler has to manage both the inhabitants and the infrastracture the citizens live in. Leader’s tactical skills face challenges, frequently questioning morality and the basic foundation of what we consider an organized society. Here optimization and resource management often clash with empathy and thoughtful decision-making. While city and society management consume most of the ruler’s time, at some point exploration of outside world is necessary to understand its history and present state.

    Greetings, Citizens of New London and daring Frostland Wanderers!

    With great excitement, we are happy to unveil the new features awaiting players in Frostpunk: On The Edge.

    On The Edge revolves around themes of trust and loyalty. Assigned as the leader of a newly formed Outpost — settled near an Army Warehouse — you are kept on New London's leash and bound to transfer all your precious findings to headquarters. At the same time, you have to rely on scarce food deliveries and laws enforced by your supervisor. It's a delicate balance to navigate — each decision introduces new potential risks and unknowns.But as soon as an alternate food source is discovered by your scouts, you start to think about surviving on your own...

    The next finding is an even bigger breakthrough — there are other Settlements out there willing to cooperate with you. Once you manage to gain their loyalty, designate trade routes between new allies, and regain control over your Book of Laws, then perhaps you can form a strong, independent union, and shake off New London's yoke. And who knows, maybe one day the proud city will ask for your help?

    Creating foundations for a new community comes with an array of difficulties. Confronting New London as well as dealing with other Settlements will test your diplomatic skills, but you can't forget that in the long run, Frostpunk is all about survival. What compromises are you willing to make to achieve that ultimate goal?

    On The Edge - Features List:

    On The Edge is the third and final expansion for Frostpunk. It was preceded by The Rifts, which challenged players to build a city on the map containing a group of islands with various resources, and prequel story The Last Autumn focused on building an iconic Generator.

    The Last Autumn is a riveting prequel story taking place before the endless winter that the Frostpunk universe is known for most. Experience the events that lead to an icy cataclysm and the construction of Frostpunk’s iconic Generator. Working conditions will be harsh and not everyone will be happy with the situation at hand. Some of your people -- albeit they shouldn't know it -- could even pay the ultimate price as they strive together to give humankind its last and only hope.     Frostpunk: The Last Autumn new features:

    A prequel story set in a new environment not yet covered by snow that allows players to construct the Generator from the ground up to prepare their society for the upcoming winter.

    A new Endless Mode variant -- Builders -- that redefines the challenges players will face by providing different setups and solutions.

    Two new Books of Laws allowing players to shape their society in previously unknown ways.

    New threats and issues to deal with such as toxic gases and workers going on strike.

    Influence society in creative new ways from establishing labour unions to outright manipulation.

    New technology tree, inventions to discover, and resources to obtain.

    25 new buildings to construct such as docks, a telegraph station, a labour union building and more.

    New social classes including Convicts -- a cheap and obedient workforce.

    Patch 1.4.1 (06 November 2019)

    Hello there, Citizens!

    Our engineers have devised a set of brand new improvements to the Automatons, Wall Drills and more! It should make the lives of New Londoners easier. Find the full list of changes below.

    1.4.1 fixes and improvements:

    Fixed Automatons' pathfinding on Rifts map - they should now use bridges instead of walking straight to the destination

    Automatons can now build bridges

    Improved citizen pathfinding

    Snow no longer covers default roads in timelapses

    Citizens now leave trails in the snow in timelapses

    It is now easier to place a Gathering Post so that it reaches more resource piles on one of the Rifts map variants

    Wall Drill placement is no longer blocked by a coal pile on one variant of the Crags map

    Wall Drill shows the correct amount of available Wood in Endless Mode

    The Scientific Method, vol. 2 achievement can now be unlocked

    other minor bug fixes

    Please note that some fixes may require starting a new playthrough. Old save files can still be affected by issues with Automatons' pathfinding and resources placement.

    Hello there Citizens! Frostpunk got a patch update a moment ago with following fixes and improvements:

    Steamhubs now consume coal while they didn't in some cases. That's fixed!

    Fixed an issue with duplicated steel resources on The Rifts map

    Patch 1.3.3 (6 February 2019)

    Hello there, Citizens!

    We have prepared a brand new patch 1.3.3, which brings a lot of new things to the game, including Photo Mode. What is it? Well, basically now you can document your triumph over the winter, and show it to your friends. This new tool has everything you need to take stunning photos of your city and includes a choice of graphic effects to transform the picture. What’s more, from now on the weather in Endless Mode will be randomized, making each playthrough a unique experience. Find the detailed list of new features and changes below.
    A Photo Mode lets you:

    In the neverending winter of the late 19th century, humanity’s last survivors are desperately trying to build the foundation of a society capable of surviving the endless deep freeze. In the darkest of times, what they truly need is a little bit of hope — a tiny piece of home in a world far away from the home they remember.     Default display mode detection fix - we know you've experienced some issues with screen resolutions; it should be all fixed now (if it's still happening for you - we have a manual solution that you can use - described below)

    More diagnostics tools - we've added some analytics that will help us track and fix issues in the future

    "Bread and Games" achievement is working properly now

    "The Union" achievement is fixed as well - it was working before - but was triggered by wrong events

    "Iron Man (The Arks)" achievement is fixed - now it's only possible to get it during The Arks scenario

    Memory leaks are fixed - which should improve stability and overall performance (more FPS, less crashes etc.)

    Save game buffor memory increased - which should eliminate any issues that you had with autosaving feature

    Fixed a bunch of crashes related to Heaters, Generator and endlog timelapse Added feature: AlienFX.

    Working with Alienware, we've added new feature to our game - which should brighten up Frostpunk's dark atmoshpere a bit. If you're using compatible hardware:

    Your keyboard's backlight colours will change depending on the current temperature in your city. And let's just say: if you see some purple lights - better fire up that Generator overdrive.

    Weather warnings - when the temperature rises or drops - your keyboard will let you know about it, pulsating with coresponding colours.
