That said, the games differ in several ways. This version doesn't offer boosters. Instead, the player can only use their aiming line and a preview of the next balloon bubble at the lower-right corner to aid them. They remove bubbles when they create a cluster of three or more of the same color. They can also remove non-matching ones connected to the removed cluster.
The player receives three instead of four free passes that protect them against penalties for failing to make a cluster. If they fail to remove balloons three times, a new row of mixed balloon bubbles appears along all sides of the shape and pushes the remaining preexisting ones into new positions.
Bubbles Around! attempts to distract the player with a dynamic background filled with bubbles of varying colors and sizes that appear and disappear at different intervals.
