描述
SugarVita biedt op een leuke manier inzicht in je bloedsuikerspiegel. SugarVita weet hoe je bloedsuiker de komende uren verandert als je nu beweegt, iets eet of drinkt. Of als je bijvoorbeeld stress hebt. Diabetes praktijkondersteuners en -verpleegkundigen merken dat SugarVita helpt bij het uitleggen hoe diabetes werkt.En als je het speelt met een groep leren patiënten van elkaar.
Het unieke van dit diabetesspel is de simulator. Deze is ontwikkeld met de Technische Universiteit Eindhoven en het Máxima Medisch Centrum. Deze simulator kan voor elke patiënt voorspellen hoe de bloedsuikerspiegel zich over tijd ontwikkelt na uiteenlopende soorten eten, dranken, beweging, stress en ingenomen medicatie. Op basis van een aantal kenmerken kan de simulator een goede voorspelling geven voor veel mensen. Patiënt of geen patiënt, met of zonder medicijngebruik, jong en oud.
