Objective of the Game
In Spy Code, players are divided into two teams, each led by a spymaster. In front of them is a grid of 30 cards with words representing the code names of agents. Some of these words belong to the red team, some to the blue team, and one word is the “assassin,” which must be avoided at all costs. The remaining words are neutral bystanders, which do not play a major role but can cause confusion.
Goal of the Game
The goal of each team is to be the first to find all their agent words by following the spymaster’s clues. The spymaster sees a special key card that indicates which words belong to which team. Using a single clue (a word) and a number that indicates how many words are related to that clue, the spymaster tries to guide their team to the correct words.
Gameplay
The game begins with the spymasters studying the key card and thinking about their clues. They then take turns giving their team a clue consisting of one word and a number. For example, if the words “cat” and “dog” are on the field, the spymaster might say “animal 2,” indicating that two words are related to animals.
The team discusses possible options and makes their guesses, pointing to the cards they believe match the spymaster’s clue. If the team guesses correctly, the agent card is covered with the corresponding color. If the team guesses incorrectly, the turn passes to the opponents, who might accidentally reveal an opponent’s word or even hit the assassin, which would immediately end the game in favor of the other team.
