描述
De unge på Skjærgården er normalt begavede unge, der skal tilbage i et almindeligt liv, med støtte til de udfordringer deres autisme medfører.
Skjærgårdens overordnede mål er at give de unge forståelse for og handlemuligheder i forhold til deres autismediagnose, så de ikke længere behøver at gemme sig bag deres spiseforstyrrelse.
Autismediagnosen rummer både udfordringer og ressourcer, mange af de unge er sent diagnosticeret og har måske levet et liv uden den forståelse og de rammer som de har behov for. Mange er derfor ramt på selvtillid, selvværd og sociale strategier.
De fleste har haft en lang vej bag sig, med følelsen af ikke at passe ind, føle sig forkert og bruge kræfter som de ikke har, som så til sidst medfører sammenbrud og en spiseforstyrrelse.
Skjærgården vil opklare og behandle disse traumer og bearbejde tidligere ubehagelige oplevelser, som sætter sig fast i de unge og som de indtil nu har båret med sig.
Når de unge stopper på Skjærgården, skal det være unge mennesker med mod på livet og en følelse af at være god nok, præcis som man er!
