Description
Gosh is a native SSH client designed for developers, sysadmins, and anyone who needs to reach a remote server. Built on the Ghostty terminal engine, Gosh delivers a fast, accurate terminal experience with the conveniences users expect.
KEY FEATURES
• SSH Agent Forwarding
Connect to a jump host and seamlessly hop to internal servers without copying private keys to intermediate machines. Gosh implements a full SSH agent so your keys stay on your device — protected by the Keychain or Secure Enclave.
• Customizable Shortcut Bar
Tap your most-used keys without leaving the terminal. The shortcut bar above the keyboard is fully configurable — add Esc, Ctrl, Tab, arrow keys, function keys, or any custom key combination. Build presets for tmux, vim, emacs, or your own workflow, and switch between them instantly.
• Native Japanese IME Support
Type Japanese (and other IME-based languages) naturally in the terminal. Marked text, candidate selection, and confirmation flow are all handled correctly.
• Persistent Background Sessions
Lock your screen, switch apps, take a call — your SSH session stays connected. Gosh keeps the connection alive in the background so you don't lose your work in tmux or a long-running command.
• Secure Key Management
Generate, import, and manage SSH keys directly on device. Private keys are stored in the Keychain or the Secure Enclave, and unlocked with Face ID or Touch ID before signing authentication challenges. Public keys can be exported for easy deployment.
• Universal
Designed for both phone and tablet. Use Gosh one-handed on the train, or pair it with an external keyboard on tablet for a near-desktop experience.
• Modern Terminal Engine
Powered by Ghostty's terminal renderer for accurate ANSI/256/truecolor support, Unicode handling, and smooth scrolling. Configure fonts, font size, and color schemes to match your taste.
