Anyone who knows anything about Quranic recitation knows that Shaykh Mahmud Khalil al-Husary is an absolute LEGEND. He was considered the Imam or Shaykh amongst the Qurra of his time (which featured such heavyweights as Shaykh Abdulbasit Abdussamad, Shaykh Muhammad Siddiq al-Minshawi, Shaykh Mustafa Ismail, etc). Not only was he a professional reciter, but he was also an outstanding scholar of the Quran. During his lifetime he recorded the entire Quran numerous times: in the riwayah of Hafs ‘an ‘Aasim (in the murattal, mujawwad, and mu’allim styles), as well as recitations in the riwayat of Qaloon and Warsh ‘an Nafi’, as well as ad-Duri ‘an abu-‘Amr. Even to this day, countless children from around the world continue to learn from his recitations. Color Coded Text: Based on a practical understanding of phonology, the text is color-coded to facilitate the correct recitation of the holy Quran and to enhance the reader's knowledge and remembering of Tajweed rules:
COLOUR CODED TAJWEED RULES
1. IKHFA If any one of these letters appear after a nun-as-sakina or tansween it will be pronounced with a light nasal sound. The letters are ك ق ظ ط ض ص ش س ز ذ د ج ث ت Quran Koran Tajwid Tajweed Colour color coded
2. GHUNNA The sound emanates from the nose and is observed on the ن and م

4. IDGHAAM If after a nun-as-sakina or tansween there appear any of these letters (ي ن م و) it will become assimilated into the letter and will be read with Ghunna. Tajweedi color-coded Quran
5. QALQALA The five letters of Qalqala are ق ط ب ج د When any of these letters in a word has a Sukoon on it or if deciding on pausing on any of these letters which appear at the end of a sentence it will appear to have an echoing or jerking sound. 6. QALB If after a nun-as-sakina or tansween the letter ب appears then the Noon Saakin or Tanween will be incorporated into the letter م and will be recited with Ghunna.
7. IDGHAAM MEEM SAAKIN If after a م there appears another م the two meems will become incorporated and will be read with Ghunna.
