Deskripsi
Die Stimmen der verschiedenen Charaktere lassen den Besucher in ihre Erfahrungen und Emotionen eintauchen und werfen die Fragen auf: Warum bist du gegangen? Was haben Sie mitgenommen? Wen hast du zurückgelassen? Wohin bist du zuerst gegangen? Wie fühlst du dich? Die Wahl der Antwort aktiviert eine der Geschichten, die die schwierigen Zeiten, den Prozess des Verlassens der Heimat und die Anpassung an den neuen Ort aufzeigen.
Die audiovisuelle Erfahrung verwandelt den historischen Raum der Synagoge in eine interaktive Simulation, in der die Zuschauer in den Inhalt eintauchen können.
Das Projekt verbindet alte Themen mit der neuen zeitgenössischen Diskussion, schafft eine Brücke zwischen den Menschen und bringt verschiedene Gemeinschaften in einen Dialog über Toleranz, Gleichheit und Freiheit.
Carry On ist Teil der Ausstellung "In Bewegung - die jüdische Landgemeinde
Staudernheim im Auf und Ab von Migrationen, 2021".
Der Museumsverein Synagoge Staudernheim befindet sich im Landkreis Bad Kreuznach. In diesem kleinen Dorfsynagogenraum hat ein ganzes Jahrhundert seine Spuren an den Wänden hinterlassen. Der Museumsverein Synagoge Staudernheim engagiert sich seit Jahren für den Erhalt und die Restaurierung dieses historischen Raumes und Dokumentes der untergegangenen jüdischen Gemeinde.
Sharon Paz, lebt und arbeitet in Berlin. Sie erhielt einen MFA vom Hunter College in New York City. Paz stellte ausgiebig im Weserburg Museum für Moderne Kunst, Bremen, Deutschland, im Smack Mellon in NYC, im Herzlyia Museum of Art und im Petach-Tikva Museum of Art in Israel aus. In der Vergangenheit wurde ihre Arbeit vom Senat für Kulturelle Angelegenheiten und dem Hauptstadtkulturfonds, Berlin, dem Fund for Video Art and Experimental Cinema, dem CCA Tel Aviv, dem Goethe Institut, der Rabinovich Foundation und dem Lottery Art Council in Israel unterstützt. Ihre Videoarbeiten sind Teil der Sammlung des Neuen Berliner Kunstvereins, der Sammlung des Video-Forums, Berlin und des Israel Museums, Jerusalem.
