描述
話し言葉によるコミュニケーションが難しい人でも、シンボルと音声を使って他者とやりとりができるように作られたAAC（補助代替コミュニケーション）アプリです。
DropTapには以下のような特長があります。
・充実のシンボルライブラリ 2000語以上の「ドロップス」シンボルと聞き取りやすい日本語音声が最初から搭載されていて、すぐに使うことができます。「ドロップス」はドロップレット・プロジェクトが開発したコミュニケーション・シンボルです。
・シンボルを他のアプリで使える便利機能
「ドロップス」は、特別支援教育の現場で広く使われており、絵カードやスケジュール、掲示物などを作る際のスタンダードツールになっています。「DropTap」のライブラリはドロップスをコピーして、他のアプリに簡単に貼り付けられるようになっています。また、ドロップスの検索機能も充実しています。
・操作が簡単
シンボルを「ボード」とよばれる画面上に配置し、タップするだけで音声が再生されます。
「ボード」上に並べるシンボルの数は障害の状態に応じて自由に変更できます。複数のシンボルをまとめて文章として再生する機能もあります。
・シンボルの追加が簡単
ドロップス以外にも、カメラやアルバムから画像を追加することもできます。また、文字だけの表示もできます。再生する音声は、マイクから録音やテキスト読み上げに対応しています。
・コミュニケーションボードの共有も簡単
作成したボードはファイルとして保存できる他、Air Drop、メール、メッセージなどで共有できます。学校の先生が作ったボードを家庭でも使う、他の人が作ったボード元に自分でシンボルを付け足す、といった共有が簡単にできます。
・外部スイッチへの対応
肢体不自由のある方の使用を想定した、外部スイッチ入力に対応しています。

・オリジナルのテキスト入力ボード（文字盤）
シンボルだけでなく、文字でのコミュニケーション機能を大幅に強化しました。
日本語のかな漢字変換にも対応しています。
・ポインター操作（視線入力）への対応
肢体不自由のある方の使用を想定した、ポインターや視線入力による操作に対応しています。
また、ポインターでの操作に慣れるための簡単なゲームも同梱しています。
・スケジュールボードのカード表示
従来のスケジュールボードは縦画面でスクロールしながらの使用を想定していて、視線入力には不向きでした。
Pro向けに新しく開発したカード表示は、視線入力でもアクセスしやすいデザインとなっています。
