This app is to support your learning of te reo Māori and lift our collective understanding of te ao Māori.
Police commitment to te reo Māori, tikanga Māori is anchored in our organisation value of commitment to Māori and the treaty. As an organisation, we all strive to deliver a service that best reflects all our communities and is responsive and inclusive to their needs.
We’ve included information on te reo Māori (the Māori language), tikanga (customs), whakataukī (proverbs) and waiata (songs), to help you understand more about our unique and shared cultural heritage. However, please note that some protocols differ from place to place.
We hope that you enjoy using this app and it increases your knowledge and confidence within a Māori context, thereby increasing your comfort and effectiveness with Māori and the wider community.
