Informasjonen er med en forteller – med barnestemme – og animasjon i sjangeren ”Læring gjennom lek med nettbrett/mobiltelefon”.
Barn i denne aldersgruppen lærer og erfarer ved lek og konkret informasjon. Innlagte barn kan raskt bli overveldet av mye informasjon. Derfor er ”Gusse – Diabetes type 1” bygget opp av korte sekvenser tilpasset yngre barn.
Historiene avspeiler virkeligheten og gjeldende kliniske retningslinjer. Helsepersonell kan bruke dette materialet som et pedagogisk verktøy for å skape en felles forståelse med barnet.
”Gusse – Diabetes type 1” er en norsk versjon av den danske ”HC And – Diabetes type 1”, som er utviklet i et samarbeid mellom H.C. Andersen Børne- og Ungehospital, Odense Universitetshospital, innlagte barn og deres familier og 10:30 Visuel Kommunikation.
Appen ”Gusse – Diabetes Type 1” med norsk tale ble utviklet i samarbeid med Else B. Stålen og Diabetesteamet ved Barne- og ungdomsklinikken, St. Olavs Hospital, Universitetssykehuset i Trondheim.
