L’objectif est de mettre à la disposition des visiteurs d'un parc ou d'un jardin toutes
les informations relatives à la connaissance des plantes, arbres et arbustes présents dans ce lieu, à travers un inventaire géolocalisé : nom, famille, origine, année de plantation, date de floraison, rusticité, descriptif complet avec des photos.
L'application Hortus botanica garantira la transmission des informations aux futures générations, elle permettra à un visiteur non accompagné de retrouver instantanément l’emplacement d’un végétal dans un jardin, d'y réaliser des parcours thématiques (origine géographique, famille de plantes,…) notamment sur les ligneux, elle offrira à terme des parcours pédagogiques pour les scolaires et ludiques pour les adultes.
