Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences & Technology is sponsored by a non Governmental registered trust namely “J&K CREATIVE EDUCATIONAL TRUST" The Government of Jammu & Kashmir has accorded the recognition for imparting training in paramedical Courses. The institute of paramedical sciences of the J&K creative educational trust has been established with the main aim of preparing a competent cadre of young professionals in the areas of Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Technology, Radiology and Imaging Technology and Operation Theater Technology, There is an urgent need to produce paramedical staff for bringing efficiency in the present medical setup by having trained man power of paramedical assistants. In a short time the Institute has gained a reputation for quality teaching and student care. A team of core faculty at the institute with right mix of qualification, experience and enthusiasm ensures regular classes; timely academic progress and proper student mentoring. Discipline and regular attendance of students are closely monitored. The Institute has well ventilated class rooms, well equipped laboratory, and a well stocked library with books and journals. Apart from imparting advanced skills in nursing the Institute is working out other value addition modules to assist students to be better nurses and paramedics in their life. For example the institute will conduct short training modules on stress management, patient handling skills, better personality etc.
The faith parents and students have reposed on us has motivated us to improve further the quality of our education services. This year we will set a new benchmark in our student centric approach which will be envy of other institutes operating in this field. Courses
Health care is the next sunrise sector in India. If the medical insurance coverage in India increases by a mere 3% there will be no hospital beds available in India. This points to acute shortage of health care in India, as well as the man power required in this sector. The number of quality institutions operational in India is likely to go up by at least four fold in the next five years. This will leave a huge demand supply gap for trained nurses and paramedics. Not only in India but actually speaking shortage of nursing and paramedics are global phenomena with USA having almost a million vacancies. Similar is the story in the whole of Europe and Australia. It is not wrong to say that nursing and paramedical education is the surest way to get a global job opportunity. We at Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology are preparing our students for these global opportunities. We hope those trained by Kashmir Institute are unique and professionally competent and can take any challenge in this field. The Kashmir Institute have been conceptualized as a “Center of Excellence” in Health Care Education and Training.
The Kashmir institute of Medical Sciences and Technology offers the following courses, which are duly recognized by Jammu and Kashmir Government and J&K state Paramedical council -

2. Female Multipurpose Health Worker (FMPHW)
3. Male Multipurpose Health Worker (MMPHW)
4. Medical Assistant/Pharmacist
5. Diploma in Operation Theater Technology (OTT)
