HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
Minimal Pairs Therapy, a proven method for helping children with speech difficulties, is at the heart of this app. This approach helps kids learn to say sounds correctly by contrasting words that differ by just one sound, e.g., "tea," "key." This speech-language pathology (SLP) app covers each step of minimal pairs therapy: 1) familiarization with the pictures and word meanings, 2) auditory discrimination (the ability to hear the difference between the sounds in words), 3) production (saying the words).
● Select the Fronting category. Select only the sounds you want to target in initial or final position of the word.
● Use the Flashcards to familiarize the child with the pictures and the word meanings.
● Work on auditory discrimination by playing the Balloon Pop and Feed the Tiger games.
● Play Coin Drop, Stamp & Say, or Four in a Row to work on speech production.
● Record the child and play it back for instant feedback and self-monitoring.
● Adjust the word selection and many more options to keep your therapy at the right level.
● Email the results to a parent or other adult user.
