Why do we memorize Tuhfat al-Atfal?
Memorizing the text helps you master the knowledge of the rules of Tajweed stipulated by the scholars of recitation, such as how to read according to the legal controls and correct reading, because you rely on rules that you apply during recitation.
The benefit of memorizing the text lies in being able to apply the Tajweed rule in addition to receiving it from the mouths of scholars.
What is the difference between Tuhfat al-Atfal and the text of al-Jazariyah?
Tuhfat al-Atfal is a simplified text for beginners that includes the rules and introduces you to the letters of each rule, for example the letters of idgham, iqlab, and ikhfa...
Al-Jazariyah is the same as Tuhfat al-Atfal, but it is a bit more extensive. It includes the letters, their descriptions, their points of articulation, and the rules as well, and some of the muqawwaf and mushul, and also for beginners.
Al-Shatibiyyah, in which al-Shatibi organized the seven readings transmitted by the imams Nafi, Ibn Kathir, Abu Amr, Ibn Amir, Asim, Hamza, and al-Kisa'i.
