Wie können Industriemuseen zu Orten des kritischen Austauschs über Zukunftsthemen werden?
Welche gängigen Narrative müssen hinterfragt und weiterentwickelt werden?
Welche Rolle kann die Kunst bei der Neuausrichtung von Industriekultur spielen?
Dies waren leitende Fragestellungen des Projekts »FUTUR 21 – kunst industrie kultur«, das zwischen November 2021 und April 2022 an den 16 Industriemuseen der Landschaftsverbände Rheinland und Westfalen-Lippe stattfand und eine Konferenz sowie ein Medienkunstfestival mit temporären und dauerhaft verbleibenden Kunstwerken umfasste.
Die Publikation führt Wissenschaft und Kunst zusammen. In zehn Fachbeiträgen werden Impulse für eine neue Industriekultur verhandelt. Darüber hinaus gibt der Band einen Überblick über die künstlerischen Arbeiten des Festivals. Die Publikation wird durch AR-Interventionen des Künstler:innen-Duos Refrakt erweitert.
Der Katalog »FUTUR 21 – kunst industrie kultur« ist im Wienand Verlag erschienen.
