SpendWise is here to help you overcome your challenges by applying methods of frugalists and mindfulness to tackle your impulses for buying new things that you don't really need and it helps you to build long-lasting mindful spending habits along the way.
SpendWise follows 8 easy Steps:
1. You are feeling the urge to buy something, that you might not need.
2. You are using the website or apps share-functionality to import the product of interest into SpendWise
3. You forget about buying the product and close the shopping app for now
4. SpendWise reminds you after 30 days about this product
5. Before buying you will be guided through a list of questions, that help you to identify if you really need the product
6. After you decided to buy or to dismiss the product, SpendWise will calculate Statistics about how much money you were able to save by fighting your impulses
7. Celebrate how much money you were able to save
8. Build habits to resists your urges to buy unnecessary things
** Core Functionality**
- Adding Products to the SpendWise Wishlist
- Importing new Products from the Web using the Sharing functionality
- Supported Websites include Amazon, AliExpress, Shopify Shops and more
- Notifications and Reminder after a set waiting period of 30, 60, 180, 365 or a custom amount of days
- Support for various currencies
** Guided Questionnaire**
- Guided Questionnaire: Asking yourself questions about the product you intend to buy. Do you really need it? How long do you have to work for it? etc.
**Statistics**
- Amount of money one saved by not immediately buying a product
- Average waiting time before buying a product
- Average price of a bought product
- Percent that item is only bought after waiting time is up
- Bubble Chart, Histogram, Word-cloud
SpendWise approach is the famous 30-Day rule of minimalists, which is well proven by now. If you have the urge to buy something (especially if this item is more pricey), you should wait for 30 Days before making the decision if you really need this product or if it just was an impulse to buy it. SpendWise helps you exactly with that, it allows you to automatically import the products you desire from various websites (or manually) and set a time when you want to be reminded again, if you want to buy this product.
SpendWise notifies you if this time is up. You can then decide whether you want to buy or save this product.
SpendWise helps you to celebrate your achievements if you figure out that you don't need these items after the 30 Days are up. It shows you statistics on how much money you were able to save by not just directly buying a product.
