Description

What you can train is how long it lingers, and research on rumination links that lingering, not the thought itself, to stress and low mood. Unhook turns this into one simple practice: catch a sticky thought, return your attention to your breath, and let it pass, before your line.
THE GOAL
Set a deadline (say 5 seconds) and a stretch (hours or days). Keep every thought under your deadline for the whole stretch and you reach your goal. Let one linger too long and the clock restarts from zero. That fresh start is the discipline that builds the habit.
