Deskripsi

GTK - Guitar Player's Toolkit
During the many phases of my guitar playing journey, I needed or used a number of tools. These included books on theory, tuners, metronomes, practice techniques, and information to help me get my head around some of the concepts like chord composition, triads, scales, modes, transpositions, or working out what a chord looks like on a fretboard. Despite being a much better guitarist than I was, I built these tools because I still use them. Now you get to use them too.

The Guitar Player's Toolkit includes the following tools:

Chord Theory

1) Chord Master
• A comprehensive chord library containing around 3600 chord voicings as well as the ability to create your own custom chords
• Know where to put the fingers, but don't know what the chord is called? This gives it a name
• Want to work out how to play a specific chord when you only have the note names? Shows all positions for these notes across the fretboard showing you where chords might sit and what to play
• A triad library shows you finger positions across different string sets, inversions, and starting frets
• A key based diatonic progressions library helps you with song writing and melody construction
• All chords can be played with guitar accurate sounds to suit Nylon, Classical, and Steel strings.

2) Scales
Show notes across every key - major, minor, diminished, augmented, but also modes, pentatonics, blues, jazz, Arabic / middle eastern, exotic, symmetrical, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and so on.

3) Position Finder
• Want to play a scale in a specific key, but at a place in the fretboard that suits you?
• Want to play multiple chords/triads reusing the shared notes?
• Want to play without having to slide your hand up and down the fretboard?
This tool show you the notes in the scale, and where they are on the fretboard in the place you want to play them in. Play them in the right key, and learn to use modes to quickly adapt to the position.

4) Chord Transposer
You often find a song that includes chords that you either don't like, or are too low or high for your voice. This tool lets you transpose all chords into a different key, or just recalculate your chords based on a capo position.

5) Circle of Fifths
An invaluable tool for song writing. This tool shows the relationship between keys and chords and also allows you to work with modes.

6) Mode converter
Allows you to convert from one musical mode to another, in any key.

7) Note Practice
Want to learn where every note is on the fretboard? This tool gives you a way
• Set a tempo/pace to practice at. Choose the strings, notes, and enharmonic format, and you'll be given a note and a string number to play.
• You hear the note so you can compare it to what you hear on your guitar. See the note on the fretboard to help you learn.
• Start with a single string, and then work across string pairs or collections until it becomes second nature.

8) Triad Practice
• Triads are combinations of 3 notes that make up chords. Learning these across string sets, and extend your mastery of the fretboard, chords options.
• Similar to Note Practice - pick your chords, string set, type of chord (Maj/Min/Aug/Dim), an inversion (Root/1st/2nd), and a tempo to practice at.
• You hear the chord/triad so you can compare it to what you hear on your guitar. See the triad on the fretboard to help you learn.
• Start with a single string set, Maj/Min and increase the complexity in terms of diminished/augmented, and multiple string sets

Practical

9) Tuner
A chromatic tuner to identify what note is being played. Use this to tune your guitar to whatever tuning scheme suits you

10) Metronome
Provide a regular beat per minute and peats per measure (e.g 3/4, 4/4). You can also manually tap a Tempo to match a beat in your head.

  • • Position Finder now shows a Key / Mode toggle when the fretted position isn't the key's own root. This allows you switch between seeing note degrees and colours relative to the key you're playing in (e.g. G) or relative to the {bold:matched mode} (e.g. A Dorian). If you're playing in G, you should still see the option to focus on G scale notes, even if it is in a different mode's position.
    • Corrected several inaccurate fret/mode pairings in Position Finder's help sheet Practical Examples - the displayed notes and mode names now match what the tool actually calculates.
    • Fixed the Chord Diagrams setting in Settings - it previously had no effect; now renamed 'Show Finger Numbers' and correctly toggles finger-number labels on chord diagrams throughout the app.
    • New Marker Colour option (Cyan, Indigo, Mint, or Pink) appears in Settings → Chord Diagrams when Show Finger Numbers is off, letting you choose the colour of the plain position dots.
    • Chord Library now shows a notice when your selected tuning isn't standard. Its chord diagrams are curated for standard EADGBE tuning and won't match alternate tunings like Drop D or DADGAD
    • Chord Master's Build and Explore tabs now show your current tuning in the navigation bar, confirming that fretboard positions and note names are calculated for the tuning selected in settings.
