If you’re performing a complex task or you’re just having a long day, a lot of time is spent without clear direction, as you navigate from one impulsive action to another, as if you’re on autopilot. If the task is complex, then you can begin to lose clarity as you get muddled in the details.
By maintaining a simple heuristic of writing out your action before performing it, you can hone down your focus into a very specific action, and be way more productive. Also, as you get used to explicitly thinking about what you’re going to do, you start to spend more time meaningfully and catch yourself more often while wasting your time.
Intentify comes with a session creation form where you can specify what you’re about to do, and configure ambient sounds, tags, ending bells, etc. After configuring your session, you can then begin a pomodoro timer. After the session is completed, Intentify automatically aggregates statistics (on YOUR device, NOT on a third party server), allowing you to visualize your focus patterns and improve upon them. You can also see all of your previous sessions in a feed format.
