描述
Meyers Fremmedordbog er en klassiker blandt danske fremmedordbøger. Den blev først udgivet i 1837, men er opdateret flere gange siden. Den inkluderer ikke opslagsord der er nyere end cirka 1920, men rummer til gengæld en perlerække af absolut fremmede fremmedord som "Idiosomnambulisme", "Zagal" og "phelloplastisk", som ikke er beskrevet i andre danske ordbøger. Den er det ideelle supplement til ordbøger over Den Danske Ordbog og Ordbog over det danske Sprog.
Meyers Fremmedordbog er en del af ordnet.dk-familien og er tilgængelig på http://meyersfremmedordbog.dk. Den udgives af Det Danske Sprog- og Litteraturselskab (DSL), som har mere end 100 års erfaring med at udgive ordbøger og står bag de største danske modersmålsordbøger. Digitaliseringen af Meyers Fremmedordbog er støttet af Skibsreder Carsten Brebøls Almennyttige Fond og sker efter venlig tilladelse fra rettighedshaverne, Frederik Viggo Dahls arvinger, samt forlaget Gyldendal.
Ordbogen er en selvstændig app, men linker direkte til opslag i andre ordbøger fra Det Danske Sprog- og Litteraturselskab, fx Den Danske Ordbog og Ordbog over det danske Sprog.
Appen kræver adgang til internettet. På den måde er du sikker på altid at have adgang til den nyeste version af ordbogen efterhånden som vi forbedrer den, uden at skulle opdatere appen. Og det hele er ganske gratis. God fornøjelse!
