Mô tả
Deutschland gilt seit etwa 1850 als weitestgehend wolfsfrei. Fast 100 Jahre vergingen, bis sich im Jahr 2000 wieder ein erstes Wolfspärchen aus Polen in Ostdeutschland angesiedelt hatte und Junge bekam.
Derzeit gibt es in Deutschland mit etwa 12 Rudeln und einem weiteren Wolfspaar insgesamt wieder ca. 100 Wölfe, die vorwiegend in Sachsen, Brandenburg und Sachsen-Anhalt sowie vereinzelt in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und Niedersachsen vorkommen. Zusammen mit den wenigen Wolfsrudeln in Westpolen zählen sie zu der deutsch-westpolnischen Population – einer der kleinsten Wolfspopulation in Europa.
