On Amigos, you can easily get to know your classmates or fellow residents and make friends - whether you’re physically going to your campus or not. You can network easily – with current students and alumni. You can start discussions, ask questions and read content that’s valuable to you as a student.
GOING BACK TO THE ROOTS
We’re scaling back instead of scaling forward from the social media we’ve come to know. We want to connect students with their immediate and most valuable community. Instead of providing you with an additional layer of social networking, we’re going back to the roots – to the very first layer. We’re dialing down on the information to keep it as relevant to you as possible, we’re providing you an opportunity to forge lifelong relationships, network within a defined space so you can make the MOST OUT OF YOUR EXPERIENCE AS A STUDENT. We’re basically making social networking easy again!
WHAT TO EXPECT?
• PERSONAL FEED: This is where all the content lives. You can post questions here, start discussions, see and comment on existing discussions and questions posted by others. You can review articles, announcements, job postings, relevant opportunities, rewards, latest events and get notified when someone from your University or accommodation creates a group. So you basically have a 360 degree view on everything that’s happening around the campus.
• GROUP CHAT: You can create groups based on your interest or your subject and degree. It can be anything from “Finance101” to “NetflixAddicts”. Amigos helps you discover and connect with other students and communities they have created so you can get in on the game and start building some friendships.
• MARKETPLACE: There are some things that can only be bought and sold only within a student community. Amigos allows you to sell your old books, furniture, clothes or buy them for a good price from other students. It’s a marketplace designed only for students, so you can sell and buy stuff easily while yet again making new friends.
• SHARE: Invite friends from your University or accommodation to join Amigos to make it a thriving virtual community. We want everyone enrolled with you, no matter whether they’re at home or on campus, to be able to join this amazing online community.
Amigos is a free application, designed to become a safe space for all students to interact within.
We are always thinking about how to make the lives of students better – so we will have updates and cool new features releasing time and again.
