When you enable the HUD, a browser window will appear in front of you and stay fixed in your view no matter where you turn your head as if it was attached to the Apple Vision Pro.
Features
- Open almost any web content in the HUD Browser, including web videos.
- Customize the HUD window size, position, distance, opacity, etc. to your preference, so you're always aware of your surroundings.
- Lock browser interaction with a button, to prevent accidental clicks and scrolling if you pinch your hand.
- Video playback control buttons, that work with some web videos (and work even if interaction is locked).
- Open a website by entering the URL or with a Google search.
- Quickly hide the HUD anytime or show it again by double-clicking the Digital Crown (right-side physical button) on your Apple Vision Pro.
Current limitations (Let me know if one bothers you, and I’ll try to solve it in a future version.)
- “Full screen” mode for web videos is not currently supported.
- Apple Vision Pro multitasking is not currently supported. While the HUD is open, you can’t use other apps. (Of course, you can still use your phone, laptop, etc.)
- The browser window is limited, not all functionality is supported that Safari supports.
I created this app to be able to watch YouTube videos while doing small chores, like washing the dishes, folding the laundry, or vacuuming, but it’s also good for eating, walking around, or just lying down. I think it’s surprisingly easy to keep two things in focus this way. I recommend setting the opacity to around 50%. But feel free to use it however you like. Obviously, it’s not recommended to use the app in any situation where not paying attention to your surroundings can cause harm.
