We find ourselves in queues (or lines) far more often than we'd like and, as a rule, they move more slowly than we'd hope. In fact, the phrase "this line is moving so fast" isn't found in any major language or travel guide.
Have you found yourself, like me, counting the number of people in front of you? Trying to judge the speed of the person behind the desk? Trying to juggle these figures in your head while being bumped and prodded to keep your place?
Queue Alert can help, doing the math for you and giving you live estimates that you can use. Once a rate is established, you can predict your wait time or predict how many people or items will get through the queue by a given time. Or, you can enter the amount of time you have to wait to see how far the queue will progress. All of this is easily at your fingertips.

Other uses:
Queue Alert isn't just for waiting in lines! This app could be used to help predict the movement of anything through a queuing system of any sort. Really, it's just math. Tap the "number in queue" flipper to cycle through a number of possible options and fully customize your experience.
Limitations:
Obviously, the estimations made by the app (and subsequent alerts) may not reflect what you actually observe, for a variety of reasons. Queues may speed up or slow down as new registers open or close, for example. These are just estimates and hold no special sway over future events. Queue carefully.
